SCA Belt Favor

A belt favor I made for my fiance to wear at SCA events, it's been a few years since I've made one of these so it took me a bit to re-work a pattern. Hopefully the next one will be a bit more polished - I made a few mistakes on this one.

This particular favor is a design that will be worn by all of our Household's (Company of the Black Stallion) members eventually.

The horse is hand embroidered on a yellow-gold cotton base, then machine swen (for durability) on to a black velvet background with belt loop. The edges of the velvet were then hand stitched to give it a more authentic appearance.

For those of you not familiar with what the heck a belt faver is - you can slide a leather or fabric belt through the top part of it and wear it to display your Household, Kingdom, lord or lady's device, affiliation with a guild etc.
